Bio
Melissa Kosciuszko resides in Jacksonville, FL with her husband Corey. She was born and raised in Youngstown, OH. She attended Kent State University and then Youngstown State University, where she studied architecture and art education respectively. (I’ll actually earn a degree one of these days.)
Several of her short works have been published in literary magazines: “Signs” and “Kung Fu Bob” in Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, and “Signs” and “St. Augustine Library” in CC&D Magazine. Her unpublished novel Once was awarded 2nd place in the 2010 Royal Palm Literary Awards, and her unpublished novel Rain was awarded 3rd place in the 2011 awards. She is represented by Mike Nappa of Nappaland Literary. (Whoo hoo.)
Melissa has been training in the martial arts under the American Taekwondo Association since 1994, and has earned the rank of 4th degree black belt, as well as the title certified instructor. She was triple crown state champion (forms, sparring, and weapons) for Ohio in 2002. (I hope to bring some of that kick butt attitude into my writing!)
